I love Cincinnati! I said it I love Cincinnati and I proudly display love for my city. Maybe that is all the Queen City needs is a proper display of public affection. I constantly hear complaints "There is nothing to do". I find myself with not enough time and energy to attend everything I would love to do. I have friends from more lively cities like Chicago and Atlanta I understand Cincinnati is missing some of the mass appeal but what we lack in quantity I can assure there is quality it's just a little harder to find. If you want to have a great time it is just around the corner or maybe on the other side of town but it's yours for the taking. Not just run of the mill overly publicized radio nights... I'm telling you.. There is a funky good time to be had!!
This week there was a buzz in my email at work the anticipation of Selecta's Choice is the glee of my friends who are eager to kick off the weekend right. Selecta's Choice is a monthly event thrown every last Friday at Northside Tavern by the Selecta's Choice crew consisting of DJ Pillo, DJ Apryl
Reign, and Mista Rare Groove. No matter the temperature outside you should always show up with comfortable shoes and a tshirt because the DJ's are going to keep you dancing, sweating, and refreshingly surprised all night.This is not the scene where maybe two or three people are dancing...No that is not the case the musical selections will keep your butt out of a chair gasping for air!! Selecta's Choice also displays their dedication to keep Hip Hop apart of the Cincinnati scene they bring in guest DJ's who are spinning vinyl as well as they will feature local and national emcees. Did I neglect to mention that this event is free... It's a steal! It's a funky good time and it's in Cincinnati.
